Featuring the third doctor (Jon Pertwee) and Jo Grant. Reynolds tells a marvelously twisty plot and which involves the Master among other villians. When the Doctor and the Master verbally spar the dialogue is so crisp and perfect you can hear Jon Pertwee and Roger Delgado ( the original master) in your head. A joy for long time fans of the show.
With this book featuring the 3rd Doctor and last years Wheel of Ice by Stephen Baxter featuring the 2nd Doctor can one hope for another pitch perfect novel in 2014 featuring Tom Baker?
