In truth I have read only the first book of the three. I plan to spread them out and use them as palate cleansers.

Haveing only seen the Movie version with Judy Garland et al, Reading L. Frank Baum's orginal novel was refreshing and great fun. It's a touch more violent and much more extremely fantastic than the celluloid take. It would be exciting if someone made a version more true to the novel with today's special effects. It would have to be better than that godawful prequel garbage with James Franco.
More later when I read the second novel...
